REASONS TO LOVE POKE

Cool and raw. Like sushi, but without the formality. You can eat it on the beach, with sand on your feet and wind in your hair. (And you should, because poke was born in Hawaii.)

Seductive. Jewel-like pieces of fresh fish dressed in just a whisper of soy sauce and sesame… or maybe ponzu, sriracha, avocado aioli…really anything that suits your tastes.

Edgy, literally. Your fish has to be high-quality, yes, but that doesn’t mean it has to be an impeccably cut loin of ahi. Poke is a way to use imperfect ends and delicious but misshapen pieces. Trust us, those ragged bits are bites of love.

Poke is culture, man. Born in Hawaii, poke is a beautiful blend of traditional Polynesian ways of eating and tons of outside influences, ranging from Japan to Santa Monica. Poke is an ever-evolving taste of place.

Hella protein. Do you fear the carbs? Poke has your back. It’s lean, heart-healthy protein (especially if you don’t go for the mayo sauce). Plus, the omega-3s are out of this world.

Customizable. Go old school with tuna, limu (seaweed) and kukui nut, or get all kale and wasabi-toasted coconut on your SoCal-style poke bowl.
